Game is a grid-based arithmetic puzzle + arcade-y shooter where you shoot incoming space ships that are on their way to bomb your base. If they destroy the base fully you lose, goal is to reach the highest wave count you can and get all the upgrades.
In between waves (or during if you are cracked) you will be busy with the puzzle grid in front of you, the interaction is the same you shoot to paint the cells green or blue. The puzzle is relatively simple it is played on a solved 6x6 sudoku grid but you will not be placing numbers, you will be making clusters(orthogonally connected cells), all the rules and info you need is available in game, but in short:
Grid already starts with static cells these are green or blue and cannot be changed and each grid will have a sum they ask you to achieve for any green cluster you make (all green clusters must have the this exact sum). And second rule is all non-green cells are to be blue and all blue cells of the grid must form one cluster this means you cannot have isolated blue cells or more than one blue cluster.
And you are paid per green cluster and the payment scales with the higher sums, since they are harder.
The first tutorial puzzle grid is a 5x5 all ones and the sum is one too, this grid can have up to seven green clusters and then rest blue and pay out 7$. The grid starts in such a way you will always have 5$ min (so you can buy your first upgrade to progress in the tutorial)
Finally, if you finish the tutorial you do not have to go through again even if you close your browser and come back you can skip it and start with 5$.
Waves ramp up in difficulty so make sure you are puzzling and upgrading in between. And your base can roughly take 18 hits and each ship will land one shot if they make it to your base, that means if you can identify the weaker ones and take them out not focusing on the strong one, that could be a strategy in defence.
Good luck and have fun!

The puzzle is inspired by sudoku variants that I love. If you really want complex puzzles I suggest give the CtC youtube channel a watch, they solve complex sudoku variants and the website logic masters.
